As someone who lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina, I’ve always felt a strong connection to our state’s beautiful communities, especially the Western NC region, which has been a favorite escape for my family and our Jeep community. Over the last year, we’ve spent countless weekends exploring the scenic mountain trails, hiking, and enjoying everything the area has to offer. So, when Hurricane Helene left its devastating mark on the region, it hit close to home in more ways than one.
Hurricane Helene: Keffer Jeep Steps Up to Help
In the aftermath of the storm, my husband, Rick Trinkl, and the team at Keffer Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM have been actively working to support those affected by Hurricane Helene. As General Manager, Rick and the Keffer Jeep team have been collecting and personally delivering essential supplies to the hardest-hit areas.
With our Jeeps, we’ve been able to access regions that remain difficult to reach due to hazardous conditions, ensuring that much-needed supplies reach the communities in need. The outpouring of support from both our dealership and the wider Charlotte community has been incredible, but there’s still so much more to do.
Urgent Needs for Hurricane Helene Relief
As the colder weather sets in, the focus of our relief efforts has shifted. In addition to food, water, and basic supplies, there’s now an urgent need for cold-weather essentials. We’re asking for donations of:
- Heavy-duty blankets
- Sleeping bags
- Cold-weather clothing
- Air-activated hand & foot warmers
On top of that, the toxic conditions caused by contaminated water and mud pose serious risks to those in the affected areas. We’re also collecting PPE equipment, such as chemical-resistant suits, gloves, and respirators, to help protect those who are working to clear debris and provide aid.
How You Can Help
If you’d like to contribute, there are several ways to get involved and many resources are available on across the Internet. If you are in the Charlotte area, you can drop off donations at Keffer Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM at 8214 E Independence Blvd, Charlotte, NC. We’re accepting donations Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM.
A Mission of Support and Community
One of the things I’ve always admired about the Jeep community is how we come together in times of need. Whether it’s navigating a tough trail or offering support in a crisis, Jeep owners know how to rise to the occasion. The same can be said for the incredible team at Keffer Jeep, who have been leading the charge in providing aid to the families affected by this disaster.
While my day-to-day work involves helping clients find homes in the Charlotte area, my passion for the Jeep community and our connection to Western NC drives me to support these relief efforts. Our mission isn’t just about offering donations—it’s about showing that, as a community, we stand with those who need it most.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Keffer Jeep’s relief mission so far and/or any of the other incredible mission efforts available. Whether through donations, spreading the word, or simply offering encouragement, every bit helps. Let’s continue to work together to support the families and communities in need.
